The Calibration test print shows a long and smooth toe, with a band of high contrast around the midtones and a short shoulder running down to DMax.

The Classic Cyanotype’s tendency for peptization, or shedding, causing staining of the whites, was nearly eliminated on the Platinum Rag by letting the sensitiser soak in for five minutes before drying with a hairdryer.

Its reputation for difficult highlights was easily handled with the curve; however, the midtones proved troublesome, probably caused by the band of high contrast mentioned above.
