Argyrotype Profile 01

The Calibration Negative test print shows a short toe, quickly reaching midtone before a long shoulder runs down to Dmax.

Initial tests encountered issues with the Argyrotype sensitiser not soaking into the Platinum Rag and shedding a significant amount of density during processing. This was nearly completely cured by prewetting the paper with 0.6ml of Kodak wetting agent diluted 1:200 with distilled water and letting it dry for five minutes before coating with 0.9 ml of Argyrotype sensitiser. Care needs to be taken not to use too much wetting agent, else the sensitiser absorbs so quickly that it becomes impossible to achieve even coating.
